Advancement Mission

The Saint Luke School Advancement program is in place to act as a two-fold mission. We are both creating awareness in the Erie community through publications, media releases, special events, advertising, and marketing as well as seeking financial opportunities through our alumni, business partners, parishioners, and parents. Both tasks are quite important and it needs to be known that money generated through the Advancement Office is kept to the donors wishes. If a donor wishes to remain anonymous, then that is what happens. If a donor wishes their donation to be restricted for technology, library, art, or any other program, we always honor those wishes. The greatest gift that can be made to Saint Luke School is an unrestricted gift to our school to be used where needed the most.

The mission of the Advancement program revolves around the students and being able to provide them with the opportunities above and beyond what other schools are able to offer them. We want to stand out in the Erie community to draw in new students and retain the students currently enrolled in our school.

We are proud of our alum, who have moved on after their time at Saint Luke School to start their journey in many various and successful careers as doctors, lawyers, business owners, and much more. They got their start here at Saint Luke School and our alum are always willing to speak of their great time at Saint Luke.

Family Named Scholarships: Monsignor Goodill envisioned a school available to all who wanted this opportunity. This is a wonderful way to keep the vision of Monsignor Goodill alive for all families. We invite you to join in our mission to create a named scholarship. Once a minimum donation of $10,000.00 is contributed to a personal scholarship account with Saint Luke School, we will begin awarding an annual scholarship in your name to memorialize someone who has passed away or to honor a family member who is still living.

Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program: This is a state program that allows businesses to turn their tax dollars away from Harrisburg and into the hands of Saint Luke School for tuition assistance. This program is simple, easy, and everyone wins! Please read more about this program here.

Saint Luke School Fund (Annual Fund): The Saint Luke School Fund is our ongoing Annual Fund. The majority of these funds are used to provide immediate tuition assistance, contain our tuition costs, and maintain our operating budget throughout the year. The fund was created in 2008 in order to bring in additional funds as an immediate way to benefit Saint Luke School.

Monsignor Goodill Endowment Fund: The Monsignor Goodill Endowment Fund has been a means for tuition assistance for years, providing scholarships for families in need. A percentage of the previous year’s growth is used for direct tuition assistance. The remainder of the money in the endowment remains invested, growing to our current goal of $1 million.

Tuition Angels: The Tuition Angels program is similar to a tuition assistance program, and you can help by sponsoring a child’s education. The actual per pupil cost to educate a child in our building, including heat, gas, electric, salaries, etc. is $3,392.00; however with the aid of parish assistance as well as other factors, we are able to set our tuition rate below that amount. Every donation helps, from $5 to the full cost of a tuition towards an anonymous or specific family.

Gifts In Kind: Gifts In Kind are physical item donations made to Saint Luke School and can be claimed as a tax deductible donation. All of our classrooms could use both new and gently used items. We are using these gifts every day- from computers to books, art supplies, paper, and much more.
