Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC)

The Pennsylvania EITC program is a tax credit program that gives you the chance to turn your Pennsylvania tax dollars away from Harrisburg and put them directly into the hands of Saint Luke School to aid in tuition assistance. I’d like to make it known that Saint Luke School participates in the STAR Foundation through the Diocese of Erie Education Office to help you get a tax credit, and once you make your donation to the STAR Foundation, you can designate the money to come right to Saint Luke School to help our kids specifically. The EITC program truly is a “win-win-win” situation, because Saint Luke School wins when you designate money to come to us, the kids and families win because they are receiving a reduced tuition, and you win because of the tax credit.

For your business to be eligible to apply for the tax credit, it must pay any of these PA state taxes:

• Corporate Net Income Tax
• Capital Stock Franchise Tax
• Bank & Trust Company Shares Tax
• Title Insurance Company Shares Tax
• Insurance Premiums Tax
• Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax

By participating in the program at the same level for two years, your business will earn a 90% tax credit in each year (a $10,000 annual contribution earns $9,000 tax credit each year). By participating in the program for one year will still earn you a 75% tax credit (a $10,000 contribution earns a $7,500 tax credit).

Please consider partnering with Saint Luke School to direct some/all of your business state tax dollars to this program. Though the state puts limits on this program, there are currently millions of dollars that could be allocated to Saint Luke School with your assistance.
