INVESTING IN SAINT LUKE SCHOOL

There are many ways that you can invest in Saint Luke School to ensure that we are able to continue to provide an education based on the gospel-values and the teachings of Christ. We are dedicated to our children and ask you to partner with us to continue the mission, vision, and values of Saint Luke, the Sisters of Mercy, and our founding pastor, Monsignor Robert Goodill.

For more information on any of the following programs and for more information about making alternative gifts to the school, please contact our Director of Advancement, Mr. Jeremy Hewitt at either 814.825.7105 Ext. 260 or jhewitt@slserie.org

Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program:
- The Pennsylvania EITC program is a tax credit program that gives you the chance to turn your Pennsylvania tax dollars away from Harrisburg and put them directly into the hands of Saint Luke School to aid in tuition assistance. I’d like to make it known that Saint Luke School participates in the STAR Foundation through the Diocese of Erie Education Office to help you get a tax credit, and once you make your donation to the STAR Foundation, you can designate the money to come right to Saint Luke School to help our kids specifically. The EITC program truly is a “win-win-win” situation, because Saint Luke School wins when you designate money to come to us, the kids and families win because they are receiving a reduced tuition, and you win because of the tax credit.

For your business to be eligible to apply for the tax credit, it must pay any of these PA state taxes:

• Corporate Net Income Tax
• Capital Stock Franchise Tax
• Bank & Trust Company Shares Tax
• Alternative Bank & Trust Company Shares Tax
• Title Insurance Company Shares Tax
• Insurance Premiums Tax
• Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
• Alternative Title Insurance Company Shares Tax

By participating in the program at the same level for two years, your business will earn a 90% tax credit in each year (a $10,000 annual contribution earns $9,000 tax credit each year). Participating in the program for one year will still earn you a 75% tax credit (a $10,000 contribution earns a $7,500 tax credit).

Saint Luke School Fund:
- The Saint Luke School Fund is our ongoing Annual Fund. The majority of these funds are used to provide immediate tuition assistance, sustain our tuition costs, and maintain our operating budget throughout the year. The fund was founded in 2008 in order to bring additional funds into our school as an immediate way to provide scholarships to families in need of an education but are unable to afford it.

Monsignor Goodill Endowment Fund:
- The Monsignor Goodill Endowment Fund has been a means for tuition assistance for years, providing scholarships for families in need. A percentage of the previous year’s growth is used for direct tuition assistance. The remainder of the money in the endowment remains invested, growing to our current goal of $1 million.  If you are financially able, please partner with us in our efforts to raise the endowment to over $1 million so that we might provide additional tuition assistance scholarships for those in need.
