SCHOOL PROFILE
Saint Luke School is a two-story masonry building which was renovated in 1998 and augmented by a new one floor early childhood wing. The school building has indoor access to the church.
Renovations to the original building were extensive and included upgraded electric service, an art space with kiln, an expanded fully automated library with approximately 12,000 holdings, music room, redesigned eighth grade suite, guidance room and technology room with 30 custom built student workstations, laser printer, scanner, and Proxima projector. Most of these spaces are air-conditioned. Sliding partitions were added to the student dining room to allow for multiple use after school hours. New fire doors, an automatic dialing system, and emergency lighting were added throughout. The gymnasium was updated with a floating wood floor and refurbished bleachers. A small athletic office is available and the stage is used for student productions during the year.
The one floor addition includes three classrooms and individual bathrooms for preschool and kindergarten, two first grade classrooms, handicapped accessible rest rooms, faculty room, and faculty work room. An attractive addition to the front of Saint Luke School allowed the administrative areas to be expanded.
All classrooms are equipped with televisions and VCRs, and at least one computer. Every computer in our school is networked with the lab server.
Our building site adjoins the campus of Mercyhurst College, a four year liberal arts institution. Our students have access to the spacious grounds as well as a large playground in the rear of our own school.
