Welcome to first grade!!! I’m very excited to begin a new school year with your children & you. Please visit 1B’s website at least once a week. As I said at Meet & Greet, I usually update this site every Sunday night. It includes important dates to remember, the story that we will be reading, spelling & high-frequency words, grammar skills, birthdates, and the weekly riddle. Don’t ever hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. My email address is bandres@slserie.org and my # is 825-7105 ext. 238.

RIDDLE OF THE WEEK
QUESTION WEEK OF 8/30/10: ”Why don’t fish go away for the summer?
ANSWER: Because they are always in school.
QUESTION WEEK OF 9/6/10: “Why did the teacher send the clock to the principal’s office?”
ANSWER: (DUE FRIDAY 9/10/10)
***Each week, I will post a riddle on the website to solve at home. Parents, grandparents, siblings, whoever are able to help the student come up with the answer. Have your child write the question & answer on a small piece of paper and bring it to me by Friday morning. I will reveal my answer and share any other “creative” answers that they/you came up with. Any child that brings in an answer will be able to visit the “Prize Box” at some point during the day. Have fun with this…it is not meant to “stress” you out trying to come up with an answer. I found this to be a great way for parents to visit this website.
GOOD LUCK!!!
